Lefkosa Nicosia is capital city with the northern (Turkish) and the southern (Greek) parts divided. Since 2003 there have been no restrictions on border crossings for EU citizens. EU citizens are free to cross and spend time on either side of the border. However you will be required to show your passports at the crossing points. Should you wish to drive across, just check with us in case of any changes to regulations.
The citys ramparts, built by the Venetians, encircle the city with 11 towers. Inside the city walls you will find beautiful examples of Gothic and Ottoman architecture among which are the Selimiye Mosque (St. Sophia Cathedral), Bedesten (covered bazaar - St. George Cathedral), the Buyuk Han (Grand Inn) and countless other monuments.
Northern Cyprus remained under Ottoman rule for more than 300 years.
Gazimagusa (Famagusta)

As we have already mentioned one of the regions many highlights has to be the picturesque Girne Harbour Kyrenia Harbour . A perfectly crescent-shaped Harbour set against the stunning backdrop of the Besparmak Mountains.
You can enjoy exploring the Venetian castle, the cobbled medieval streets, or just wander in and out of craft shops. With an array of water-facing restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, a collection of craft shops and juice bars, it isn`t difficult to understand why Kyrenia is one of the most visited and loved areas of Northern Cyprus.
Güzelyurt
Translated, means `beautiful country' in Turkish. Güzelyurt is famed for its fragrant citrus groves and fresh market, selling an array of local produce.
Located in the West of North Cyprus, Güzelyurt is no ordinary tourist destination. The locals still today, enjoy a wonderfully slow pace of life amongst beautiful rustic surroundings.
Güzelyurt is host to a annual Orange Festival, this is a major event that lasts for two weeks.
